About

The Fractome database project was started in 2015 with funding from NSF’s Geobiology and Low Temperature Geochemistry program. It is populated by data gathered from the published literature, and maintained by Professor Alex Sessions at Caltech. The database currently contains only results for hydrogen-isotopic fractionations as measured in laboratory cultures of microbes (we had to start somewhere…). We hope to eventually expand to include include all organisms, and field studies, and other isotopes.

To submit new data for addition to the database, please make sure it is in CSV or excel formats (here's a template) and email them to ALS@gps.caltech.edu. Required fields are marked in the templates. Only data resulting from published studies will be accepted. Remember to mention us in your data management plan!
